About the role
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Tire Mechanics at our Antioch, TN Service Center. Preferred candidates will have the ability to lift up to 125 lbs, work in a fast-paced environment, and change, repair, and maintain tractor-trailer tires with ease. Mechanics are responsible for changing and repairing tires on class 8 fleet vehicles. Candidates must also have a good driving record.
Responsibilities
- Change and repair tires on class 8 fleet vehicles
- Mount and dismount truck and car tires
- Operate off and on the truck balancer
- Perform service calls on the road with a service truck
- Repair tractor-trailer tires to company standards
Requirements
- 1-year commercial tire experience
- Ability to lift 125 lbs
- Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods
- Current operator’s license
- Basic knowledge of tire D.O.T. information
- Basic knowledge of out of service criteria
- Ability to identify the difference between a retread and a new tire
- Ability to identify each wheel type and proper fasteners
- Ability to operate a 1" air wrench
- Ability to properly tighten all types of wheels
- Clean MVR required
Schedule
Full-Time, Monday – Friday, various shifts.
Benefits
Earn 1 week of vacation after 90 days of employment.
Pay
Earn up to $29.75 per hour.
