Time and Leave Administration Technician

About the role
Reporting to the HR Operations Line Manager, this position provides entry-level technical, consultative services in one or more functional areas of human resource management. This position will work with Time, Labor and Leave functions, including trouble-shooting system errors, processing leave and holiday calendars, and assisting with time administration processing and testing. Other duties as assigned.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and consultative services in Time, Labor, and Leave administration
- Troubleshoot system errors related to time and leave functions
- Process leave requests and maintain holiday calendars
- Assist with time administration processing and testing
- Analyze high volume of data accurately and timely
- Create reports and summaries to support management decision-making
- Produce documents and reports as needed
- Maintain confidential information in a secure and sensitive manner
- Work flexible hours as needed
- Travel to System Office or other colleges for training and meetings (less than 5%)
Requirements
- Experience handling multiple administrative tasks/assignments at one time
- Experience in researching issues and analyzing data
- Customer service experience
- Work experience utilizing HRIS computer systems, Peoplesoft preferred
- Experience with MS Office, including Excel
- Knowledge of basic math, telephone procedures, and standard business communications
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues with a sense of urgency
- Ability to work in an ever-changing environment with multiple customers and priorities
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to apply knowledge of human resource principles and practices, including federal and state laws and regulations applicable to work
- Ability to work independently, as well as a team member
- Ability to manipulate data in Excel Spreadsheets by using formulas and filters
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
- High level of integrity and ethics
