TILE DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER II (2ND SHIFT) (Dickson, Tennessee, United States, 37055)

About the role

Join Dal-Tile, the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States and a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. We are seeking an intermediate-level Material Handler to join our team. This role involves stocking, checking, wrapping, and loading/unloading materials in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing stations or shipping areas.
• Perform warehouse duties such as pulling/assembling customer orders, checking outbound orders for accuracy, conducting inventory stock checks, restocking and labeling vendor products, and maintaining displays.
• Move, store, and replenish materials, and conduct daily cycle counts.
• Perform receiving duties, including unloading inbound material, processing inbound shipments, stocking material, handling customer returns, and reporting damaged shipments.
• Operate forklift equipment and maintain certification for powered industrial trucks.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility through sweeping, trash removal, and general maintenance.
• Uphold a safe working environment by following all safety rules and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 1+ years of previous distribution/warehouse experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience with stand-up forklift or order picker equipment (no experience required for pallet jack).
• Good oral and written communication skills, record-keeping skills, and listening skills.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to work safely and conscientiously.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average picks per hour: 25, with weights ranging from 40-70 lbs (65% of the shift) and lighter items (20-40 lbs) for 35% of the shift.
• Specific vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures; noise level is usually loud.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, with potential overtime and Saturday work.
