TILE DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER I (1ST SHIFT) (Dickson, Tennessee, United States, 37055)

Primary Objective

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing station or shipping area.

Major Function and Scope

• Pull/assemble customer orders
• Check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness
• Inventory stock checks
• Restock and label vendor product
• Move, store, and replenish material
• Conduct daily cycle counts
• Receive and unload inbound material
• Process inbound shipments
• Stock material
• Process customer returns
• Notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims
• Operate forklift and order picker equipment
• Maintain clean and organized facility
• Sweep, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance
• Obey safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management

Experience and Knowledge Required

• High School diploma or equivalent experience
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator
• 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred

• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
• Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• May be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance
• May lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift
• Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• Exposure to a wide range of temperatures
• Exposure to noise level is usually loud
