Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel sheet metal, tubing, pipe, and structural components in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Execute sanitary welds for food-grade and process piping applications, including proper purge procedures and finishing requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, schematics, and fabrication drawings to determine welding sequences and project requirements.
- Prepare materials for welding using grinders, saws, plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment.
- Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other inspection tools.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications, company quality standards, and applicable ASME codes and standards.
- Assist with assembly, fitting, pipe threading, soldering, machining, and mechanical fabrication activities as required.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment when authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, project managers, and fellow team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and safety.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Welding certification preferred (AWS or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience welding stainless steel in sanitary food, dairy, beverage, or process piping applications.
- Experience with 12-gauge stainless steel, tubing, and purge welding techniques strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, fabrication techniques, and quality inspection methods.
- Familiarity with ASME codes and industry welding standards preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and positive attitude required.
