About the role
As a TIG/MIG Welder specializing in building food processing equipment, you will construct, assemble, and install machinery used in the food industry. This role requires expertise in welding, blueprint reading, machine building, quality control, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient and safe equipment production. Attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety standards are crucial.
Responsibilities
- Proficiently utilize TIG, MIG, and Arc welding techniques to fabricate and assemble components of food processing machinery.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide the assembly and construction of food processing equipment with precision.
- Expertly assemble various parts of food processing machines, ensuring accuracy and alignment for optimal functionality.
- Construct, install, and test mechanical and electrical components of food processing machinery to ensure proper operation.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to guarantee equipment meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve issues or defects in equipment during the assembly process to ensure efficiency and performance.
- Safely handle and transport raw materials and finished components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years TIG/MIG welding experience.
- Proficiency in welding techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Qualifications
- Welding Certification (desirable).
- Degree in Millwright (desirable).
- Journeyman Certification (desirable).
Skills
- Physical strength and endurance for lifting heavy objects, carrying equipment, and standing for long periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise assembly of machinery parts.
- Mobility and flexibility to work in confined spaces, bend, kneel, crouch, or reach overhead.
- Good visual acuity for reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Hearing ability to follow instructions and safety warnings in noisy environments.
- Safety awareness and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Stamina to sustain performance during long hours in physically demanding conditions (e.g., uncontrolled environments, hot summers, cool winters).
