Thrift Store Associate (Part-Time)

About the role

The Thrift Store Associate provides quality customer service as part of the Thrift Store Operations. Receives donations, processes and displays merchandise, operates cash register and completes sales transactions.

Responsibilities

• Accepts and evaluates donations for resale suitability.
• Ensures quality of inventory by adhering to merchandise standards when accepting donations.
• Cleans, prices and displays merchandise.
• Arranges merchandise displays throughout the store as assigned.
• Operates cash register, assists with sales transactions and with the reconciliation of daily cash receipts.
• Answers phone lines and provides customer service.
• Assists customers on the sales floor and suggests sales when appropriate.
• Buils positive donor relations by providing information regarding use of donations.
• Actively supports a team environment among store associates.
• Ensures a safe work environment by keeping aisles and other areas clear of debris.
• Unloads donations from truck.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with the public.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Computer literacy.

Pay
