Position Summary

The Salvation Army Albert Lea Thrift Store provides an enjoyable shopping experience with great deals on a variety of goods. Revenue from the store directly supports the local community by funding Salvation Army Albert Lea Corps programs and services.

About the role

The Albert Lea Corps is committed to “Doing the Most Good” by offering holistic, person-centered support to individuals and families. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, the Corps provides short- and long-term case management, food and clothing assistance, utility and rent support, housing resources, and connections to community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming and positive shopping and donation experience for customers and donors.
• Operate the cash register accurately, efficiently, and quickly.
• Sort, clean, process, hang, and organize merchandise.
• Stock and maintain sales floor merchandise to enhance product visibility and drive sales.
• Affect donations, assist donors with unloading items, and issue receipts.
• Perform light cleaning to maintain a tidy and organized store environment.
• Assist customers with loading purchases as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer services and/or retail experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required and previous experience handling cash a plus.

• Must pass background checks.
