Thoracic Surgeon - Locum Tenens

About the role

This position provides inpatient-only general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery coverage on a call-only schedule with a required 20-minute response time.

Responsibilities

• Perform open and endoscopic procedures, including:
  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • Valvular repair/replacement
  • Aneurysm repair
  • Lung resection
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • AICD (Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) placement
  • LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) management
• Perform bronchoscopy and ventilator management
• Manage approximately 4-5 phone consults, patients, and admissions per call
• Adhere to a 1:2 call ratio

Requirements

• Extensive surgical experience
• Proficiency in both open and endoscopic techniques

Pay

Competitive hourly rates ranging from $375 to $450.
