Thoracic Surgeon - Locum Tenens

About the role

This role involves inpatient-only general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, requiring expertise in both open and endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to call coverage with a 1:2 call ratio
• Manage 4-5 phone consults per call
• See 4-5 patients and handle admissions per call
• Perform essential procedures including:
  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • Valvular repair
  • Aneurysm repair
  • Lung resection
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • AICD (Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) placement
  • LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) management
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Ventilator management
• Provide quality surgical care and maintain documentation via an online portal
• Respond promptly to call duties

Requirements

• Proficiency in both open and endoscopic cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
• Experience in complex surgical procedures
• Strong clinical skills and ability to manage inpatient care efficiently
• Excellent communication skills

Pay

Competitive hourly rates ranging from $375.00 to $450.00, influenced by experience and position needs.
