Description
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a reliable pool of third-party carriers for customer and cold storage shipments.
- Review daily orders in Microsoft Dynamics BC and assign carriers based on lane and capacity.
- Manage dedicated high-volume lanes, including dedicated asset and/or drop-trailer programs.
- Cook with Shipping to schedule carrier appointments and manage yard activity, including communication with Security.
- Verify invoice accuracy and ensure timely carrier payment.
- Manage cold storage relationships, including capacity planning and rate negotiation.
- Resolve daily service and quality issues with carriers and cold storage partners.
- Support Sales with on-time customer deliveries and inter-warehouse product movement.
- Monitor freight and storage costs, balancing competitive pricing with service level as the top priority.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional travel within North America.
