Third Grade Teacher

From our humble beginnings in 1920, Fitzgerald Public Schools is a community of 2,200 students with 350 staff members. We are proud of our early childhood center for grades PreK-K, our two elementary schools (one for lower elementary grades 1-3 and one for upper elementary grades 4-5), our middle school serving grades 6-8 with one of the planetariums in the county, our high school for grades 9-12 with a state-of-the-art automotive service center, and our virtual academy. We have an award-winning athletic program, marching band, and our own food service, transportation, custodial, and maintenance teams. Through our partnership with a local provider, we also offer school-age child care.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in K-5 all subjects
• Knowledge of AIMS Web, STAR 360, and Compass Learning
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures, and methodology of effective teaching of students
• Ability to deliver and articulate oral presentations and written reports
• Ability to effectively analyze needs and problems objectively
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public
• Must have the ability and proven record to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, and instruct according to the Michigan Common Core State Standards and district-adopted curriculum
• Implement curriculum and use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction
• Participate in professional development and implement best practices
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student achievement in the content areas

Pay

Per FEA Contract
