About the role

The Utah Department of Corrections Division of Reentry and Rehabilitation seeks a Therapist Supervisor to lead Substance Use Treatment at the Fortitude Treatment Center and Orange Street Community Correctional Center.

Responsibilities

  • Establish program performance criteria, update evidence-based curricula, and plan program implementation.
  • Provide direction to pilot and ongoing programs, propose innovative program activities, and launch innovative clinical initiatives.
  • Conduct quality monitoring visits, advocate for vital program resources, and standardize clinical operations in partnership with leadership.
  • Recruit, mentor, and empower a clinical team. Define role expectations, conduct meaningful performance evaluations, ensure staff maintain active DOPL licensure, and cultivate professional growth for caseworkers and interns.
  • Oversee training curricula, help secure professional development opportunities when needed, and facilitate educational sessions.
  • Develop staff awareness on the importance of behavioral health via educational and training venues. Develop expertise around behavioral health services.
  • Maintain high standards of treatment integrity by creating and overseeing quality assurance audits, monitoring corrective action plans, and direct and monitor therapist, case workers and interns involvement, and activity in treatment programs.
  • Assist in the determination for the need of specific policy/procedure.
  • Research national best practices, align treatment standards with applicable statutes, and draft policies and procedures when needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of directly related professional experience.
  • Licensed for at least two years in good standing as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC).

Risks

Safety and risk issues inherent while working within a correctional facility with an inmate population are presumed. e.g. being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
