About the role
Centerstone is seeking a therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team. No weekend or on-call work is required. This is a full-time office-based position with face-to-face as well as telehealth opportunities to meet with clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop therapeutic rapport with clients – Meet with clients as scheduled to aid in the development of a therapeutic relationship.
- Diagnostic Assessment – Formulate a provisional diagnostic assessment based on information presented; identify the need for risk assessment (to include substance use assessments).
- Concurrent Documentation – Complete documentation within 24 hours.
- Provide assessment services, individual (and possibly family) therapy to those identified with substance use issues.
- Treatment Planning – Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise overall treatment goals/objectives and plans per ongoing assessment of needs and input from the individual based on their identified strengths.
- Therapeutic Interventions – Use empirically based modalities to engage and manage mental health or substance abuse diagnoses.
- Complete progress notes within current agency guidelines.
- Respond to supervisory requests for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads, including telephone and face-to-face intervention.
- Keep the administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Coordination, ability to organize, and plan are critical for this role.
- Respond to the needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrate good clinical judgment in decision-making regarding consumers.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
- A Master’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling.
- License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
OR
- Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field (outside of the disciplines listed above) must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework.
- Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas:
- Clinical treatment and treatment planning
- Appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
- Psychopathology
- Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing treatment to individuals with mental health disorders is required; substance use disorders experience preferred.
- Internship experience may be applied toward the minimum experience requirement for recent graduates.
Pay
Starting salary range: $50,000 - $55,000
