About the role

The New York Foundling is a New York-based nonprofit established in 1869 that supports children and families through foster care, conflict and poverty challenges, developmental disabilities, and access to health and mental health services. Our interrelated programs provide a whole-person, whole-family, and whole-life approach to building lifelong resilience and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned caseload and provide coverage for peers as needed, delivering direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with the assigned model.
  • Conduct assessments, including reviewing referral information, identifying key participants, evaluating systemic strengths and weaknesses, and creating individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts for peer and supervisory review, ensuring compliance with the assigned model.
  • Participate in all model training, supervision, consultation activities, and staff meetings.
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders (e.g., child protection services, Guardians ad Litem, judges, schools) to ensure cooperation among service providers.
  • Manage extensive documentation requirements to comply with agency, ACS, and other stakeholder mandates, including the assigned model.
  • Document contacts and case progress in agency electronic health records and other systems in a timely manner.
  • Adopt a strength-focused approach with families, stakeholders, and within the program/treatment team.
  • Accompany families/clients to psychiatric appointments and other community-based appointments as needed.
  • Attend weekly supervision, consultation, and on-call meetings.
  • Manage extensive travel requirements and provide 24/7 coverage during the week, including participation in a weekend on-call rotational schedule as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Adherence to The Foundling’s employee policies, Code of Conduct, and applicable laws, regulations, or bargaining agreements.
  • Engage appropriately with support departments to ensure timely hiring, performance management, investigations, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions.
  • Provide regular supervision and performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related subject area.
  • Education must be from a U.S. accredited institution or include a Credential Evaluation for non-U.S. institutions.

Pay

$67,632.38 per year, with the following additive amounts as applicable:

  • $3,000 – MST-PRV Additive
  • $3,500 – Bilingual Additive
  • $1,000 – Provisional Licensure Additive
  • $4,000 – Full Licensure Additive
  • Up to $2,000 sign-on incentive (not available for internal candidates).
