Therapist (LMFT, LPC, LSW)

About the role

The Therapist I provides Clarvida-approved therapeutic interventions to clients and families to affect identified needed changes, and assists with case coordination and resource linkage to clients and other involved parties (e.g., family, DCS, Court personnel, non-relative supports).

Responsibilities

• Assess clients on intake as needed, conduct community client visitation, transport clients, complete on-call duties, and provide Clarvida-approved therapeutic services to clients and families, including coping skills, behavior modification, parenting skills, and crisis intervention.
• Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy to assigned clients and families.
• Work with assigned clients’ treatment team to create, personalize, and update all Treatment Plans and other necessary documentation, ensuring consistency with Clarvida policy, state licensing regulations, and COA accreditation requirements.
• Serve as a liaison and client advocate with other professionals and agencies involved in assigned clients’ care.
• Attend Supervision and Treatment Team meetings and make presentations on each assigned client as required.
• Support fellow team members to ensure the best outcomes for all Clarvida clients and families.
• Complete clinical documentation within established time frames and rectify all deficits within the allotted time frame.
• Ensure integrity and excellence by completing peer audits as assigned and contributing to the performance Quality Improvement Cycle, including the collection and use of data to continuously improve client and program services.
• Travel approximately 25% of the time.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a discipline that allows eligibility for mental health licensure in Tennessee.
• Thorough knowledge of child development and therapeutic interventions.
• Sensitivity to other cultures and socioeconomic levels.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours consistent with program needs and at multiple locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children/adolescents in a therapeutic, community-based treatment environment.

Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints; write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques; make persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts (e.g., exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations) and operations (e.g., frequency distribution, test reliability/validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, factor analysis).
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
• Mentoring, teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
