Therapist (LMFT, LPC, LSW)

About the role

The Therapist I provides Clarvida-approved therapeutic interventions to clients and families to affect identified needed changes, and assists with case coordination and resource linkage to clients and other involved parties (e.g., family, DCS, Court personnel, non-relative supports) when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients on intake as needed, conduct community client visitation, transport clients, complete on-call duties, and provide Clarvida-approved therapeutic services to clients and families, including but not limited to coping skills, behavior modification, parenting skills, and crisis intervention.
• Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy to assigned clients and families.
• Work with assigned clients’ treatment team to create, personalize, and update all Treatment Plans and other necessary documentation, ensuring plans are consistent with Clarvida policy, state licensing regulations, and COA accreditation requirements.
• Serve as a liaison and client advocate with other professionals and agencies involved in assigned clients’ care.
• Attend Supervision and Treatment Team meetings and make presentations on each assigned client as required.
• Support fellow team members to ensure the best outcomes for all Clarvida clients and families.
• Complete clinical documentation within established time frames and rectify all deficits within the allotted time frame.
• Ensure integrity and excellence by completing peer audits as assigned and contributing to the performance Quality Improvement Cycle, including the collection and use of data to continuously improve client and program services.
• Travel approximately 25% of the time.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a discipline that allows eligibility for mental health licensure in Tennessee.
• Thorough knowledge of child development and therapeutic interventions.
• Sensitivity to other cultures and socioeconomic levels.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts (e.g., exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations) to tasks such as frequency distribution, test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
• Mentoring skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and at multiple locations consistent with program needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children/adolescents in a therapeutic, community-based treatment environment.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
