About the role
The Licensed Therapist provides social services and individual, family, and group therapy and case management services on acute and residential units under the direction of the Director of Social Services. Assigned cases may vary somewhat depending on experience and specialty areas.
About Hill Crest Behavioral Health
Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services is a robust, free-standing psychiatric hospital offering dedicated services to adolescents and adults from the surrounding Birmingham community. With an average census of 150 patients, Hill Crest features acute inpatient, residential, and group home settings. We currently treat:
- Acute Adults
- Acute Adolescents
- Forensic Adult Males
- Residential Males and Females
We do not treat medically compromised individuals beyond our scope of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide social services and therapy (individual, family, and group)
- Case management services on acute and residential units
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in a Counseling/Mental Health Related field
- Current license as an ALC or LPC in the State of Alabama is required
- Ability to establish rapport with a multidisciplinary team and assist patients to work toward recovery and sustain health
- Experience and credentials for areas served and specialized interventions (adventure-based counseling, play therapy, or sexual offender/victim) highly desired
- Experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit or residential program preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development of the population served
- Therapist working with sexual behavior program must have certification in sexual behavior
