About the role

At Valley West, our Therapist I team provides the guidance, support, and evidence-based care individuals need to navigate mental health and substance use challenges. Through meaningful therapeutic relationships, personalized treatment planning, and collaborative care, you'll help clients build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and make lasting progress toward recovery and well-being.

The Therapist I (ACMHC, AMFT, CSW, CSW-I, LMSW) conducts mental health assessments, develops individualized care plans, and delivers evidence-based psychotherapy interventions. The Therapist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to prioritize client care and achieve treatment objectives. The Therapist ensures compliance with ethical standards, participates in professional development, and maintains timely documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts assessments to diagnose mental health and substance abuse disorders
  • Directs clients’ care by developing, implementing, and managing personalized care plans with specific treatment goals and objectives for each client
  • Provides therapy sessions for individuals, groups, families, and crisis support using approved evidence-based tools to effectively enhance treatment
  • Follows agency documentation policies for all phases of treatment, including assessments, care plans, treatment transitions and discharge plans, and client care
  • Collaborates with internal and external multidisciplinary teams regarding clinical aspects of treatment
  • Adheres to ethical and legal standards set by licensing boards and state regulations
  • Meets direct care expectations
  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities to meet licensure, certification, and/or other agency requirements

Requirements

  • Master’s degree – Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or equivalent
  • ACMHC, AMFT, CSW, CSW-I, or LMSW licensure in state of practice
  • Agency provided certifications

Pay

Range starts at $65,020.80 annually (pay calculated based on years of licensed experience). Hourly rate: $31.26–$35.17.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with one shift per week working until 8:00 pm
  • Flexibility to start at 9:00 am or 10:00 am
  • Flexible 4/10 (Tuesdays off) or 5/8 schedule options
