THERAPIST/FT-OUTPATIENT

About the role

The Program Therapist performs social services functions to assist patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while providing therapeutic treatment skills to achieve optimal emotional health. The role includes basic consultation, teaching, specialized clinical social work services for individuals and families, crisis intervention, short‑term and long‑term family therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy when ordered by a physician. The position is full‑time and serves a 112‑licensed‑bed mental health facility on a 14‑acre campus in Orlando, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs through therapeutic treatment.
• Provide basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social work services for individuals and families.
• Conduct crisis intervention, short‑term and long‑term family therapy, and group therapy.
• Deliver individual therapy when ordered by a medical doctor.
• Offer a variety of psychotherapeutic services (group, family, individual) to patients presenting with co‑occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance‑abuse disorders, and other behavioral disorders.
• Provide social services, including discharge planning and referrals to community resources.

Qualifications

• Active, clear license in the State of Florida (LCSW or LMHC).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting (preferred).
• Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge of therapeutic philosophies, including group and individual treatment techniques.
• Working knowledge of developmental stages.
• Basic knowledge of community resources.
• Effective communication skills with diverse populations.
• Strong assessment abilities and capacity to intervene in a variety of situations.
