About the role

The New York Foundling is a New York-based nonprofit that has supported hundreds of thousands of neighbors on their paths to stability, strength, and independence since 1869. Our interrelated programs provide a whole-person, whole-family, and whole-life approach to help children and families navigate foster care, support families struggling with conflict and poverty, assist individuals with developmental disabilities, and improve access to quality health and mental health services.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned caseload and provide coverage for peers as needed, delivering direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with the assigned model.
• Conduct assessments, including reviewing referral information, identifying key participants, evaluating systemic strengths and weaknesses, and creating individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts to promote peer and supervisory review, ensure compliance with the assigned model, and meet extensive documentation requirements from agency, ACS, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in all model training, supervision, consultation activities, and staff meetings.
• Build relationships with community stakeholders (e.g., child protection services, Guardians ad Litem, judges, schools) to ensure cooperation among service providers.
• Document contacts and case progress in agency electronic health records and other systems in a timely manner.
• Adopt a strength-focused approach with families, stakeholders, and within the program/treatment team.
• Accompany families/clients to psychiatric appointments and other community needs appointments.
• Attend weekly supervision, consultation, and on-call meetings.
• Manage extensive travel requirements and provide 24/7 coverage during the week, including participation in a weekend on-call rotational schedule as applicable.
• Adhere to organizational expectations, including punctual attendance, commitment to The Foundling’s mission and values, and compliance with employee policies, laws, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related subject area from a U.S. accredited educational institution or a credential evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution.

Pay

$67,632.38 per year, with additional additives:

• $3,500 – Bilingual Additive (as applicable)
• $1,000 – Provisional Licensure Additive (as applicable)
• $4,000 – Full Licensure Additive (as applicable)
• Up to $2,000 sign-on incentive (not applicable to internal candidates).
