About the role

The Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapists provide model‑adherent, culturally competent, clinically oriented, short‑term treatment within the Family Assessment Program (FAP) continuum in the Bronx and the multi‑borough Staten Island/Manhattan program. This position is located in the Bronx.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values and align practice with policies and procedures
  • Maintain a caseload of approximately eight FFT cases
  • Attend all required FFT trainings and ACS mandated trainings
  • Participate in weekly staffing with the FFT Site Lead
  • Complete all FFT documentation in the FFT/CSS system in a timely manner
  • Convert notes simultaneously into the ACS ADVPO Progress Notes or Connections Progress Notes
  • Administer and enter all required FFT assessment tools into the CSS system
  • Implement FFT protocols as provided by the FFT consultant and/or supervisor
  • Deliver FFT treatment consistent with the model to ensure fidelity and adherence
  • Meet OCFS and ACS accountability requirements, including timely FASPs, Progress Notes, and Plan Amendments
  • Fulfill FFT “front loading” requirements for high‑risk families (three meetings in the first 10 days)
  • Conduct all home‑based contacts and maintain at least four case‑work contacts per month per family
  • Engage in community outreach to achieve the required 20% utilization from self‑referrals
  • Provide 24/7 phone availability to respond to client crises and conduct sessions on weekends as needed
  • Accept cases in other boroughs where the contract is held (Bronx, Manhattan/Staten Island) as required
  • Collaborate with Educational and Employment specialists to monitor school attendance, obtain records, and intervene with DOE to develop appropriate education/vocational plans

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or equivalent NYS license‑eligible mental‑health degree
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Experience working with adolescents and families in child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice settings
  • Willingness and ability to work with families and teens in home, school, and other community settings
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Strong clinical skills and capacity to work under pressure with high‑risk, crisis‑oriented cases
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including clear writing and timely documentation
