The New York Foundling is a New York-based nonprofit that supports children and families through foster care, conflict and poverty challenges, developmental disabilities, and access to quality health and mental health services. Our interrelated programs provide a whole-person, whole-family, and whole-life approach to building lifelong resilience and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned caseload and provide coverage for peers as needed, delivering direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with the assigned model.
  • Conduct assessments, including reviewing referral information, identifying key participants, evaluating systemic strengths and weaknesses, and creating individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts to promote peer and supervisory review, ensure compliance with the assigned model, and meet agency, ACS, and stakeholder mandates.
  • Participate in all model training, supervision, consultation activities, and staff meetings.
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders (e.g., child protection services, Guardians ad Litem, judges, schools) to ensure cooperation among service providers.
  • Complete timely documentation of contacts and case progress in agency electronic health records and other systems.
  • Adopt a strength-focused approach with families, stakeholders, and within the program/treatment team.
  • Accompany families/clients to psychiatric and other community appointments as needed.
  • Attend weekly supervision, consultation, and on-call meetings.
  • Manage extensive travel requirements and provide 24/7 coverage during the week, including participation in a weekend on-call rotational schedule as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Regular and punctual attendance, adhering to The Foundling’s and department-specific time and attendance policies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to The Foundling’s BHAG, mission, vision, and values (Compassion, Dignity, Family and Community, Diversity, Excellence).
  • Adherence to The Foundling’s employee policies, Code of Conduct, and applicable laws, regulations, or bargaining agreements.
  • Appropriate engagement with support departments for hiring, performance management, investigations, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions.
  • Regular supervision and performance evaluation of direct reports (if applicable).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
  • Degree must be from a U.S. accredited educational institution or include a Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. institution.

Pay

$67,632.38 per year, with the following additive amounts as applicable:

  • $3,500 – Bilingual Additive
  • $1,000 – Provisional Licensure Additive
  • $4,000 – Full Licensure Additive
  • Up to $2,000 sign-on incentive (not available for internal candidates).
