THERAPIST

About the Role

Provide therapeutic services to high-risk youth and families in community, school, and office settings. Continued employment is contingent upon issuance of a professional license within an agreed-upon timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling for youth and families.
• Deliver the highest quality of professional counseling service in each session.
• Provide ethical counseling services aligned with agency policy and effective clinical practice.
• Interact with youth and peers in a consistent, compassionate, positive, and reasonable manner.
• Monitor client progress toward treatment goals.
• Maintain accurate and complete client files as outlined by agency policy and applicable standards (ODMHSAS, CARF).
• Make and facilitate timely referrals (including inpatient and residential programs) to support client recovery and treatment goals.
• Meet established productivity requirements.
• Supervise graduate student interns, practicum students, and/or volunteers as needed.
• Work a flexible schedule to meet client needs (some evenings required).
• Possibility of working remotely one day a week.
• Assist in maintaining a workplace environment conducive to good clinical practice.
• Attend and prepare for all relevant agency staff meetings and functions.
• Provide support services to assist the agency in meeting its mission.
• Represent the agency professionally in the community.
• Show up and be present in young people’s lives, especially during times of relapse and crisis.
• Commit to personal and professional growth, including participation in organization training activities.
• Keep supervisor fully informed at all times.
• Participate in team, shift change, and staff meetings.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Licensure or licensure under supervision required (LPC, LMFT, LADC-MH, and/or LCSW).
• Certified BHRS & Case Manager in addition to the above license.
• Valid Oklahoma state driver’s license (must maintain).
• Two to five years’ experience in individual, family, and group mental health and substance abuse counseling.
• Experience working with high-risk youth.
• Knowledge of adolescent and family dynamics, treatment modalities, and mediation techniques, including substance abuse.
• Understanding of the juvenile justice system.
• Knowledge of the Medicaid system and agency certifications (ODMHSAS Standards and CARF Standards).
