About the Role
The Therapist within the Psychiatric Practices is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of therapeutic services. They deliver a full range of outpatient services and may also provide inpatient services as requested. The Therapist works with individuals and groups impacted by behavioral health issues (addiction/substance use and mental health), recognizing the role of trauma in development and adjustment. They demonstrate a warm, empathic, and hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery, and are trained in trauma-informed care to ensure a sensitive and responsive environment.
The Therapist reports to the Assistant Director of Adult Psychiatric Practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, marital, and family counseling in alignment with contractual agreements.
- Complete diagnostic intake assessments to ensure medical necessity and provide appropriate referrals based on client needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans within expected time frames, consistent with evidence-based practices.
- Provide crisis services for patients during regular daytime operations.
- Adhere to system quality and documentation standards as identified by accrediting agencies, Center and program policies, and local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Assist with the needs of other programs or services as required.
- Display professionalism with clients, colleagues, and administrative staff.
- Regularly collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of providers within Psychiatric Practices and other program components of the Center.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field (required).
- Experience in an inpatient/outpatient behavioral health setting (preferred).
- Experience providing individual and group therapy (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Work in a normal office environment with prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
- Normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment (keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, etc.).
- Ability to remain calm during stressful events, occasionally work irregular hours, and interact with exasperated individuals.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- TB test required upon hire.
