Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions
• Conduct comprehensive intakes and clinical assessments
• Formulate diagnoses using DSM criteria
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide ongoing therapeutic support and psychoeducation
• Build coping strategies and promote long-term healing
• Respond to crisis hotline calls as needed
• Participate in a rotating 24-hour on-call schedule
• Provide in-person advocacy and support at local hospitals
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other emergency personnel
• Prepare clients for legal proceedings and offer follow-up support
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Participate in case consultations

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
• Active Texas clinical license (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in good standing; provisional licensure with approved clinical supervision may be considered
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
• Three (3) years of experience working with at-risk or trauma-impacted populations, preferably survivors of domestic or sexual violence
• Knowledge of community, legal, and mental health resources supporting survivors of domestic/sexual violence and homelessness
• Ability to conduct crisis intervention, implement safety planning, and respond independently in high-stress situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate support or psychoeducational groups
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends as program needs require

Other Requirements

• Pass criminal background check
• Provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
• Provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
• Provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting
