Therapeutic Recreational Therapist

About the role

The Recreational Therapist provides assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic recreation and leisure programs for adult and geriatric patients. They assist in developing community integration programs and consults with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop therapeutic recreation plans of care from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Identify and engage community partners to support program growth and development.
• Drive a facility vehicle with patients and staff as passengers for community outings.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Two years of experience working in an inpatient setting.
• State and National Certification: Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) preferred.
• Valid NV/CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Working-level knowledge of the English language.
• Computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements and access online forms and policies.
