About the Role

The radiation therapist administers and simulates radiation treatments following physician prescriptions, ensuring accurate delivery and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operating CT/Simulator, linear accelerators, portal imaging, cone beam CT, HDR units, and related equipment.
• Performing treatment planning, tumor localization, dosimetry, and quality assurance protocols.
• Constructing immobilization devices and managing treatment data entry and documentation.
• Monitoring treatment accuracy, reporting variations, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Participating in patient education, assessment, and support services, including referrals.
• Ensuring radiation safety and adhering to department quality improvement initiatives.
• Managing scheduling, charges, and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program with an associate’s, bachelor’s, or certification.
• Registered and certified by the ARRT with a current state license.
• Experience operating radiation therapy equipment and computer systems, with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret complex radiation prescriptions and work effectively under pressure.
