Therapeutic Practitioner x 2 – Supporting Smiles

About the role

Ormiston Families’ Supporting Smiles Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service is seeking Therapeutic Practitioners to provide professional mental health support to children and young people through our Therapeutic Pathway (ages 4–13) and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner service (ages 5–18). The service operates across Norfolk and Waveney, delivering evidence-based, needs-led therapeutic support in community settings such as schools, family hubs, and other venues.

The multidisciplinary team includes Therapeutic Practitioners, Counsellors, and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, working collaboratively to ensure accessible and responsive support. As part of Norfolk & Waveney’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health Alliance, the service integrates with partners like The Benjamin Foundation, Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk County Council, and Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust to provide THRIVE-informed care across multiple pathways.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic support tailored to the individual needs of children and young people (ages 4–18).
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality mental health interventions.
• Provide support in community settings, including schools, family hubs, and other venues.
• Collaborate with partner organizations to ensure integrated, THRIVE-informed care.
• Engage in a needs-led approach, co-created with children, young people, and families.

Requirements

• Open to both qualified therapists and those approaching professional accreditation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Qualifications & Experience

Successful applicants will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, professional accreditation, knowledge, skills, and experience. Those approaching professional accreditation will receive supervision, support, and development opportunities to progress in their careers.

Pay

£27,666 or £34,467 per year (dependent on qualifications, professional accreditation, and experience), based on 37.5 hours per week.

Location

Norwich Hub, with travel required across Norfolk and Waveney.
