Therapeutic Practitioner – Cognitive Behavioural Therapist – Supporting Smiles
Ormiston Families has been helping children, young people and families across the East of England feel happier, stronger and understood for more than 45 years. Our work is rooted in compassion, collaboration and effectiveness, and it is powered by people who genuinely care.
About the role
As a CBT Therapist within Supporting Smiles, you will join a multidisciplinary team of therapeutic practitioners, counsellors and wellbeing practitioners delivering holistic mental health support. Supporting Smiles is our dedicated Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service, offering needs-led therapeutic support across Norfolk and Waveney.
We work with children aged 4–13 through our Therapeutic Pathway and young people aged 5–18 through our Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner team. Whether a child lives locally or is registered with a Norfolk or Waveney GP, we provide accessible, meaningful mental health support. Sessions are offered in community venues, schools and family hubs, with flexible arrangements to ensure children and families can access the help they need.
The service name — Supporting Smiles — was co-created with the children and families we serve, reflecting our commitment to listening, involving and empowering those at the heart of our work.
We are part of the Norfolk & Waveney Children and Young People’s Alliance, an integrated network guided by THRIVE principles: Getting Advice, Getting Help, Getting More Help and Risk Support. Alongside partners including The Benjamin Foundation, Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk County Council and Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, we ensure children and young people aged 0–25 receive the right support at the right time.
