Therapeutic Childcare Teacher

Lifeline Connections is a community-based behavioral health organization specializing in confidential and compassionate care for individuals experiencing substance use and/or mental health conditions. Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to children of mothers in the six-month Residential Treatment Program
• Assess, monitor, and plan for children's developmental growth
• Maintain a clean, inviting, and well-organized classroom environment
• Model appropriate interactions with children and communicate with families, the Childcare Supervisor, and other staff as necessary
• Implement consistent positive behavior management
• Manage a group of up to 10 children independently
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate learning and recreational activities influenced by their interests
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate files
• Implement developmental screenings

Requirements

• Associate in arts in early childhood education preferred
• Must have MERIT account and initial STARS training completed
• Paid experience teaching children ages birth-5
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Food Handler’s Permit
• Ability to continuously stand or walk
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
• Excellent attendance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
