About the role

This position guides individuals as they participate in therapeutic, recreational, and vocational activities designed to support personal life goals.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction Assistance: Support individuals as they complete therapeutic, recreational, and vocational activities that strengthen skills
  • Activity Oversight: Monitor participation during programs, Center-wide events, and off-grounds trips and provide assistance and support
  • Mobility Support: Aid individuals with varying communication and movement needs during daily activities, programming, and community employment tasks
  • Work Area Care: Maintain clean conditions, manage supplies, and handle equipment to support safe and sanitary conditions
  • Residential Collaboration: Assist residential staff with delivering and monitoring treatment, training, and related services when assigned

Schedule

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and 2nd shift (1:00 PM to 9:00 PM), with a 30-minute lunch
  • Rotating break days
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • No telework option available

Requirements

  • Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Additional Information

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
