Theatre Technicians

Responsibilities

• Setup, operation, and maintenance of theatrical and event production equipment, including lighting, audio, and set pieces.
• Work in a team to support guest artists, performance groups, and renters with lighting, sound, and set requirements, as assigned.
• At times, Theatre Technicians may be expected to lead a small group of Technicians during performance, events, and rentals.
• Supervise the theater and technical equipment during performances, events, and rentals.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A working knowledge of professional audio mixing consoles and other audio equipment, such as microphones and speakers.
• A working knowledge of theatre lighting consoles and equipment, as well as lighting design.
• A working knowledge of theatre set construction or carpentry.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid North Carolina driver license.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay

Starting pay range is $16-$18 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

Scheduled work hours, including evenings and weekends, will fluctuate based on the employee's availability and skill set as well as the needs of scheduled performances, events, and rentals.
