Responsibilities

  • Know and follow all TGA policies and procedures.
  • Welcome and greet guests, making them feel comfortable and personally attended to.
  • Learn regular guests by name, their preferences, and needs.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes, and make genuine recommendations.
  • Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
  • Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
  • Know and follow laws for serving alcohol.
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Maintain a clean and neat service station, including table-tops, silverware, glassware, floors, and decor.
  • Monitor and observe guests' dining experiences, ensuring satisfaction with food and service.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
  • Prepare final bills, present checks, accept payment, and process credit card charges or make change.
  • Assist fellow servers and back servers with clearing and resetting tables as needed.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Participate in proactive communication to help avoid and solve operational, HR, and financial issues.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of high-volume restaurant serving experience with a basic knowledge of dining room service procedures.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a desire to serve guests, and enjoyment of working as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to safely lift and maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per TGA standards.
  • Adherence to safety procedures.
  • Availability to work on holidays and/or weekends.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
