About the role
The Grand Sierra Resort is seeking a Supervisor for The Pool. This role involves overseeing all department operations, providing exceptional customer service, managing staff, resolving guest issues, and maintaining cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and adherence to all GSR and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring the highest levels of customer service.
- Well-groomed and professional appearance, meeting GSR's standards of appearance.
- Communicate with guests professionally, answering questions and offering assistance when possible.
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool, bars, and surrounding areas with a strong attention to detail.
- Daily scheduling and reporting, maintaining appropriate staffing levels, adjusting as needed.
- Ensure pool and surrounding areas meet department standards and are suitable for guest use, managing opening, daily, and closing procedures.
- Assist with training and development of staff, coaching and counseling.
- Manage staff productivity, delegate tasks, and work closely with team members to ensure success.
- Maintain compliance with Health Department standards and promote a neat, clean, and organized environment.
- Provide clear communication and direction, keep staff informed and educated on current department and company initiatives.
- Attend and participate in all meetings as required, maintain open communication with management, and relay relevant information and events.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory role in the hospitality industry or pool setting preferred.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to respond to questions effectively and present information in a clear and professional manner.
- Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme temperatures, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, fumes, etc. associated with a pool environment.
- Must possess excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Must be able to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
- Must have a strong knowledge of various systems including but not limited to; AS400, Microsoft Office, HOT SOS, Kronos, and Info Genesis POS.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume outlet ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements to successfully perform job duties.
- Provides clear direction, establishes goals and appropriate time frames, manages overall guest satisfaction, and monitors progress to achieve desired results.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in hospitality, pool setting, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License & Alcohol Awareness card.
