About the role
As the Men's Apparel Designer at The North Face, you'll help shape the next generation of performance and performance-inspired apparel, creating innovative products that enable athletes and adventurers to thrive in the world's most demanding environments. Responsibilities
- Support the Men's Apparel Design Team in elevating design expression and creating best-in-industry performance and performance-inspired apparel.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of seasonal product design and creative vision.
- Design and develop products built for Snow, Climb, and Trail, as well as lifestyle products inspired by these categories.
- Assist the design team with seasonal research, tool updates, concept development, product design, and tech pack creation.
- Execute moderately complex product design work, including seasonal research and insights, presentation tools, concept development, design deliverables, and product execution.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to bring products to life.
- Create and develop a broad range of products in partnership with design leadership.
- Present design work during seasonal go-to-market milestones while actively giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Apply a solid understanding of brand aesthetic, DNA, materials, technologies, fit, silhouette, and cost engineering to support consumer and business needs across both performance-led and performance-inspired products.
- Contribute to team reviews, workshops, and key milestones while demonstrating a passion for craftsmanship, detail, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in performance and lifestyle apparel design, with a focus on men's apparel preferred.
- Knowledge of outerwear and sportswear design, construction, and materials.
- Strong product acumen with working knowledge of the apparel creation process, including design, development, sourcing, and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong sketching, technical design, and tech pack creation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience conducting research, ideation, prototyping, and concept development across performance and lifestyle products.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solver with a values-driven approach to balancing consumer, product, and business needs.
- Demonstrated agility, adaptability, and comfort navigating change.
- Growth mindset with a passion for learning new tools, processes, and ways of working.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
- 3D design experience (preferred).
- Experience using AI rendering tools (preferred).
- International work experience and market understanding (preferred).
- Basic pattern and construction capabilities (preferred).
- Circular design experience and understanding (preferred).
Schedule
This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our HQ in Denver, CO three days a week.
Pay
Hiring Range: $82,080.00 USD - $102,600.00 USD annually.
This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
