The Meadows Support Staff - Recreation

Position Description

Assists with the daily operation, maintenance, and activities of the Meadows Sports Complex. Provides customer service to visitors, teams, coaches, tournament organizers, and the general public while helping ensure that facilities, athletic fields, concessions, and event areas are clean, safe, organized, and ready for use.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operation and maintenance of the Meadows Sports Complex and Latture Fields.
• Keep athletic fields, concessions, and event areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Provide courteous customer service to visitors, teams, coaches, tournament organizers, and the general public.
• Support other Town departments and facilities as needed based on seasonal activities and operational demands.

Schedule

This is a full‑time position primarily consisting of 10‑hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday. The regular work schedule may be adjusted based on athletic events, tournaments, facility activities, seasonal demands, and operational needs. The position may occasionally require work outside the normal Tuesday‑through‑Friday schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Location

The employee will primarily work at the Meadows Sports Complex and Latture Fields, with occasional support to other Town departments and facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in parks and recreation, athletic facility operations, event coordination, grounds maintenance, customer service, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with the public in a customer service or recreational environment (preferred).
• Experience with athletic facilities, tournaments, recreational programming, concessions, facility rentals, or event operations (preferred).
• Valid Virginia driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
