The pay range is $23.00 - $32.00 per hour, inclusive of hourly pay rate plus service charge. This includes a $6.50 per hour base wage and service charge commission paid per shift, with historical averages of $17.00 - $26.00 per hour in commission. Earnings fluctuate seasonally but always meet or exceed Colorado’s minimum wage of $15.16 per hour.

About the role

As a Bartender, you will manage an extensive wine and spirits list and provide attentive, personalized service to guests at the bar. You will maintain strict cleanliness, guide guests through food-and-drink pairings, and collaborate closely with the kitchen and floor staff to ensure an upscale dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Mix classic and craft cocktails with precise measurements, proper glassware, and sophisticated garnishes.
  • Greet bar guests warmly, take drink orders, and offer expert recommendations on wine, spirits, and menu pairings.
  • Promptly fulfill drink orders for dining room servers while managing full service for guests seated directly at the bar.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the restaurant’s entire food menu, seasonal or daily specials, wine lists, and allergen information.
  • Monitor stock levels, handle precise daily inventory, and keep the bar impeccably clean, polished, and organized.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption responsibly and adhere to all health and sanitation rules.
  • Communicate with serving staff and kitchen staff to ensure accuracy of orders and proper timing of service.
  • Know the table numbers and pivot points for all areas of the restaurant.
  • Report tips in accordance with IRS regulations.
  • Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
  • Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
  • Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or upscale bartending is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
  • Advanced mixology, wine pairing, and spirit heritage.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
