About the role
The Restaurant Cashier processes non-gaming transactions, including initiation and settlement of patron checks in all F&B outlets located off the gaming floor. Cashiers also assist with everyday restaurant functions such as hosting and bussing duties.
Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable of Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino’s history, property map, restroom and telephone locations, store and restaurant hours, and handle guest inquiries efficiently.
- Start-up and balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Settle patron checks using the resort POS system, including collection of all tender methods and system entry.
- Maintain accountability for cash, checks, and paperwork related to an assigned cashier drawer.
- Understand procedures for non-gaming comps, gift cards, Ambassador Charges, Executive Charges, and Room Charges.
- Account for all player’s comp slips.
- Tactfully handle guest relations and ensure guest recovery activities.
- Assist with seating guests, wiping silverware and menus, and setting tables as directed by the Room Manager.
- Perform any duties assigned by the manager or shift manager.
- Collaborate with other departments for the overall benefit of the casino.
- Maintain a current understanding of all information security policies, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate professionally with patrons, staff, and management.
- Maintain a professional work environment and adhere to attendance and regulatory guidelines.
- Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Six months of previous cashier or money-handling experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cash register start-up and close-down procedures preferred.
- Ability to operate office equipment, including a 10-key adding machine.
- Good math skills required.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and use fingers/hands for lifting and grasping.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to talk to and hear customers/co-workers.
- Must be able to assist with special needs of customers.
- Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Close visual acuity required for performing job activities.
- Subject to environmental conditions, including protection from weather but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Subject to atmospheric conditions (e.g., noise level is usually moderately loud).
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
- Must possess the physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Pay
Starting rate: $16.00 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
