Thanksgiving and Christmas Pet Sitters

About the role

Pet Minders is a well‑established, large pet sitting company with 22 years in business and a reputation for superior customer service. Our pet sitters have been with us from 2 to 10 years. We provide full‑service, in‑home pet sitting including vacation visits for dogs and cats, 12‑hour overnight stays, and midday dog walks. We have an immediate opening for a Holiday pet sitter available for Thanksgiving weekend and the Christmas period (starting a few days before Christmas and running through New Year’s). This is a part‑time opportunity for anyone who enjoys spending time with dogs and cats and wants extra income.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients’ homes in the morning (7‑9 AM) and evening (7‑9 PM) for dog visits (more flexibility for cat visits).
• Some dogs require a midday walk.
• Visits are booked 7 days a week, with weekends being busier.
• Vacation pet‑sit duties: walk dogs or let them out in the yard, give love and attention, feed, refresh water, and bring in clients’ mail and packages.
• For cats: feed, refresh water, clean litter boxes, and provide attention.
• Overnight stays: remain in the client’s home from approximately 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Comfortable walking dogs in all types of weather.
• Commit to at least one year (preferably longer) as pets bond with their sitter.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous cat and dog sitting/dog walking experience or pet ownership preferred.
• Reliable car is an absolute must; smartphone required.
• Availability during the hours listed above (morning, evening, possible midday walks, overnight stays).
• Live in the local area to reduce drive times.
• Very dependable – pets count on you to be there.
• Able to follow directions, as each visit is unique.
• Available for summer and holiday sits, which are our busiest periods.
• Part‑time Independent Contractor position.

Pay

Pay is 45% of the price charged to the client per visit, plus 100% of any tips left.

Schedule

• Morning visits: 7‑9 AM.
• Evening visits: 7‑9 PM.
• Some dogs require a midday walk.
• Overnight stays: approximately 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Visits are scheduled 7 days a week, with weekends busier.
