About the role

The Associate Textile Technologist coordinates with Print/Graphic Designers, regional offices, and printers to execute patterns to meet design intent and track strike off ready dates and approval statuses. They help coordinate specific design details and merchandising issues, ensuring deadlines for strike off approvals and expedited sample timings are met.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with print/graphic designers to align on strike offs approval to match design intent
  • Pass off prints, patterns, graphic packages to regions and vendors for strike offs requests
  • Ensure strike offs, handlooms, knit-downs are received for milestone meetings
  • Review print, pattern, graphics with print/graphic designers and submit corrections with manager’s supervision
  • Follow all print, pattern, and graphics through seasonal Centric tracking charts as the main communication tool with global partners
  • Deliver print, pattern, graphic approvals on time; manage expectations and alternate arrangements if deadlines cannot be met
  • Manage fabric library for strike offs and reference files
  • Follow up with Print/Graphic Designers, CAD artists, and vendors on printing techniques, limitations, repeat, special layouts, and material and machine constraints

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Apparel Production Management) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in print pattern and graphic product development and sourcing
  • Domestic travel as required
  • Knowledge of repeat of artwork, fabric content, and printing machine types and basic testing for quality assurance
  • Knowledge of printing, yarn dyes, and graphic manufacturing
  • Knowledge of garment washing, dyeing, and fabric finishing
  • Working knowledge of printing processes and their impact on the product development process
  • Experience in approving colors and layout for pattern and graphic strike offs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook, Centric, and basic Photoshop skills
  • Self-starter with ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
  • Proactive to find solutions and detail-oriented
