Texas-IP Litigation Associate
About the role
Winston & Strawn is seeking a mid-level litigation associate with a strong background in intellectual property, particularly patent litigation. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of experience as a seasoned patent litigator, representing both accused infringers and patent owners in federal court, the International Trade Commission, and/or before the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in patent infringement cases in federal court
- Advise clients on patent strategy and portfolio management
- Prepare and argue motions, including inter partes review (IPR) and post-grant review (PGR) petitions
- Manage and coordinate with experts and witnesses
- Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff
Requirements
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the Texas State Bar
- At least 3-5 years of relevant legal experience
- Experience in patent litigation, including IPR and PGR proceedings
- Strong academic record, preferably in electrical/computer engineering or related field
- USPTO registration is preferred but not mandatory
