IP Litigation Associate
Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join a leading regional East Coast law firm in its Connecticut, New York, or Boston offices.
About the role
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a hybrid schedule (three days per week in the office). The firm represents clients across industries in complex patent and technology-driven matters, and the team is known for strategic, business-oriented advocacy. Candidates with a technical background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics are preferred. Attorneys in this role will take on meaningful responsibility in all phases of patent litigation, working closely with experienced partners and subject matter experts in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex patent and IP litigation matters in federal courts and other forums
- Manage substantive aspects of cases, including fact and expert discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery-related motions
- Work with technical experts and develop technical case theories in coordination with clients
- Analyze patents, prior art, infringement and invalidity contentions, and related technical materials
- Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
- Contribute to case strategy, risk assessment, and client communications
- Collaborate closely with partners and litigation teams across offices
Requirements
- Associate attorney with significant intellectual property litigation experience at a leading law firm
- Demonstrated focus on patent litigation, including experience handling substantive discovery and motion practice
- Technical background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics strongly preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to manage complex technical issues and translate them into persuasive legal arguments
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hybrid, team-based environment
- Licensed and in good standing (or eligible to waive in) in Connecticut, New York, or Massachusetts
Schedule
Full-Time, Hybrid (3 days per week in office)
Pay
Base salary will vary by office location and is determined by relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors. The target base salary range for this position in New York is $200,000 – $260,000. Compensation for Connecticut and Boston will be commensurate with market and experience.
