Job Summary

Certified Languages International (CLI) seeks telephonic interpreters to work from home. This position offers independent contractor status and flexible scheduling, accommodating a high volume of 24/7 interpreting needs.

About the Role

Interpreting services are essential for thousands of organizations, particularly those in healthcare, insurance, finance, utilities, and customer service. CLI works with various industries and clients who require immediate communication assistance for LEP individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide over-the-phone interpreting services for a variety of industries and clients.
• Interpret in multiple languages for clients needing medical, legal, and other types of communication support.
• Log on and off using CLI's online portal or landline telephone to start and end interpreting sessions.
• Meet eligibility criteria for working in the U.S., including having a valid Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number and photo identification.
• Reside in the United States to comply with local labor laws and regulations.
• Be available to interpret 24/7 to accommodate client needs.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Must have interpreting experience, although it is preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must be fluent in the language(s) needed for the interpreting assignments.

Qualifications

• Valid Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number.
• Photo identification.
• Fluency in the required languages.

Benefits

No benefits are provided as this is an independent contractor position.

Pay

Payment is based on a per-minute rate, with interpreters paid for every minute spent on the phone interpreting. Payments are issued twice monthly, on the 15th and last day of each month, via direct deposit.

Schedule

The position is work from home, allowing interpreters to set their own schedules to accommodate their personal and professional commitments.
