Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer exams using a variety of delivery systems; act as proctor for make-up and accommodated tests.
- Greet candidates, verify identification, provide instructions, seat candidates, start exam, monitor while testing, distribute results, and make appropriate referrals.
- Prepare testing paperwork, supplies and computer stations for scheduled testing assessments.
- Paperwork includes rules agreements, sign in logs, testing materials and exhibits.
- Review testing schedule and testing instructions in advance.
- Compile and evaluate student information before testing to ensure need for testing.
- Prepare Test Center reports as required.
- Upload and verify test scores.
- Troubleshoot basic testing software problems or delivery issues, notifying supervisor when major errors or incorrect data has been identified.
- Contact and work with global help desk centers to resolve unusual or difficult software testing problems or delivery issues.
- Maintain a working and updated knowledge of Test Center policies, practices, and procedures.
- Periodically, travel to and from Waukesha County Jail to test for GED, register candidates for testing, and respond to questions from walk-in candidates.
- Review updates on policies and procedures for various exams with candidates.
- Prepare for and take certification exams to be eligible/qualified to proctor exams, resolve technical problems, respond to requests for information using reference materials.
- Communicate the department’s services to students, faculty, and community.
- Answer phones and serve students in-person, direct individuals to appropriate departments/areas.
- Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.
Minimum Qualifications
- Flexible schedule and ability to work days, evenings and Saturdays.
- Thorough knowledge of Business English grammar, spelling, punctuation, office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to type/keyboard at least 35 words per minute.
- Familiarity with microcomputer operations including data entry, word processing and spreadsheet/database applications.
- Aptitude for organization, detail, and accuracy; ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Ability to compile, organize and maintain data, reports, and records.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of different cultures and backgrounds including employees, students, clients and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet testing credentials to administer and proctor tests as required and pass federal background check.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma plus one year of additional coursework in computers or a related field.
- One year of work experience in customer service or in an office environment.
