About the role
Collins Aerospace specializes in the repair of electronic components for aircraft at its Phoenix MRO facility. The technician role is critical, focusing on testing and troubleshooting units to ensure customers can fly safely.
Responsibilities
- Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures
- Setting up and operating various test stands
- Configuring test equipment for special tests as needed
- Interpreting and recording test results
- Recognizing and isolating test equipment failures
- Using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level
- Reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics
- Effectively communicating work status to team members and support staff (e.g. shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)
- Understanding theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required
- No security clearance is required
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must have good computer skills and knowledge of office software applications
- Must be able to distinguish colors and meet vision requirements
- Must be able to stand for 2 hour increments without an opportunity to sit
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
Qualifications
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience with reading or interpreting schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings
- Experience with using multimeters or oscilloscopes
Skills
- Electrical Technician Certification
- Associates Degree in Electronics
- Prior experience with component level troubleshooting
- Experience testing and troubleshooting electronics to the subassembly level

Schedule
The external candidate will receive a sign-on bonus of $3,000. The position offers an Overnight Weekend Shift from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM Thursday-Sunday night. While training, may need to work 1st shift hours.
