Test Technician
About the role
Test Technicians at the Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division QualTech NP Cincinnati location perform all functions relating to the testing of a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components for the nuclear power industry.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes test procedures and other written instructions, selects the appropriate Measurement & Test Equipment, builds test set-ups, and conducts tests to collect data and evaluate the operability and acceptability of the components or systems to the requirements of the test plan.
- Documents data on applicable data sheets.
- Records and reports failures and test anomalies.
- Works closely with engineering and project coordinators as needed in the development of test procedures.
- Initiates and participates in continuous improvement activities.
- Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Interacts closely with engineering, project management, and QA to resolve quality issues.
- Works collaboratively with all team members to achieve project objectives including safety, quality, and customer schedule.
- Maintains effective communications with project team, ensuring that all requirements and expectations are addressed effectively.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Training equivalent to an Associate’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of related electrical testing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of electricity: Use of Power Supplies, Multimeters (Voltmeters, Ammeters, Ohm meters) and other common electrical testing devices to measure Voltage, Current, Capacitance, Inductance, Impedance, and Resistance.
- Apply knowledge to test electrical control equipment, calculate and construct resistive loads using basic math functions.
- Assembles and tests, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, relays and other electrical equipment and components according to test plans and knowledge of electrical principles.
- Develop wiring diagrams and layout sketches for test setups.
- Construction of test circuits for Alternating and Direct Current (AC/DC) applications.
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical components and systems.
- Basic math and computer skills.

Pay
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only.
