About the role
This is a hands-on, entry-level position primarily involving setting up and performing tests as part of either durability or safety teams. Successful applicants will be able to learn quickly and sometimes work independently in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking and communication.
Responsibilities
- Interpreting technical specifications
- Accurately preparing and setting up test articles and fixtures/vehicles (requires kneeling and heavy lifting)
- Evaluating the performance of test articles using measurements and sensors
- Documenting detailed test procedures
- Communicating with supervisors and customers in a clear and timely manner
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure all deadlines are met
- Monitoring and maintaining test equipment
- Collaborating with other facilities to maintain consistent operating practices and introduce improvements throughout the company
Extended hours may be required due to test schedules.
Requirements
- High attention to detail
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently
- Experience with basic hand and power tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- General computer skills (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
- General understanding of automotive parts and mechanics
- Welding experience
- Hi-lo experience
- Experience with basic fabrication tools (band saw, drill press, etc.)
- General understanding of fasteners (metric/standard)
