About the Role

This position is for a Principal Factory Sustainment Lead within the Test Solutions Engineering Center (TSEC) at RTX. TSEC drives business success by providing critical engineering services across product lines and functions. Test Solutions products are utilized in engineering labs, the field, factories, and production testing environments for weapon system products. This role involves leading a team of multi-discipline engineers, providing technical and execution oversight, and managing multiple projects in a production factory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of multi-discipline engineers in a production factory environment.
  • Provide technical and execution oversight for multiple projects across various programs.
  • Create and manage execution schedules, financials, and Earned Value (EV) elements.
  • Drive multiple stages of test product engineering development, sustainment, and test equipment troubleshooting.
  • Maintain cost, schedule, and technical aspects of assigned projects.
  • Partner with program offices, customers, and cross-functional teams to establish strong relationships.
  • Manage budget, schedule, Estimate at Complete (EAC) process, and financial performance reporting.
  • Generate Budget Change Requests (BCR) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) for Test Systems Engineering programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ prior relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and program management.
  • Experience with Test Systems Engineering or equivalent for both hardware and test software development, integration, verification, validation, and maintenance in production, manufacturing, or product qualification environments.
  • Experience with program management tools such as EVMS, Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Experience with budget, schedule, EAC process, and financial performance report generation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • EVMS certification, Program Management certification, or equivalent to Raytheon PM Level 6 certification.
  • Demonstrated IPTL experience collaborating with program offices, cross-functional teams, and internal/external customers.
  • Strong influential communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present analytic and performance results to leadership.
  • Experience in small/medium program execution.
  • Understanding of engineering development, transition to production, production, and maintenance.
  • Experience with proposal capture, contract processes, RFP response, BOE preparation, and contract startup/close-out.
  • Experience with Automation Test Equipment/Unit Under Test (ATE/UUT) functionalities.
  • Understanding of Agile Methodologies.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.

Schedule

This role is 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL and qualifies for relocation assistance.
