About the Role
The Test Engineering Lead is a hands-on semiconductor test engineering leadership role responsible for developing and supporting RF and DC production test solutions while leading a team of approximately 3-5 engineers. This role supports industry-leading semiconductor products spanning communications, data center infrastructure, microwave, and millimeter-wave applications operating at frequencies up to 100 GHz and beyond.
The ideal candidate is a strong engineer and practical technical leader who can drive test development from concept through production release, solve complex manufacturing test issues, and mentor engineers while improving yield, quality, cost, and test efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to a team of test engineers while maintaining accountability for technical execution, quality, and schedule commitments.
- Develop and deploy RF and DC semiconductor test solutions including hardware architecture, instrumentation selection, software development, characterization, debug, documentation, and production release.
- Design, develop, and optimize RF test solutions for products ranging from discrete devices and MMICs to advanced modules operating at frequencies up to 100 GHz and beyond.
- Support manufacturing test operations by resolving production issues, improving measurement integrity, and strengthening high-volume test capability.
- Analyze test data, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve yield, quality, and productivity.
- Develop and improve test procedures, calibration methods, engineering workflows, and product interface solutions required to support high-volume manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and external test partners to address technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience, including RF/DC test development, automated test systems, production support, and new product introduction.
- Experience developing, debugging, and deploying semiconductor test solutions, including hardware, software, instrumentation, and manufacturing support.
- Strong understanding of RF measurement techniques, automated test platforms, test automation software, and semiconductor package interface technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, leading projects, and driving yield, quality, cost, or manufacturing efficiency improvements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, manufacturing, and external test partners; willingness to travel as required.
